Today you'll explore two of the most fascinating hikes of La Paz. In the morning, you'll go on a 6.2 mile hike through Valle de Las Animas, an outstanding valley filled with pillars of clay that make up South America’s largest geological tower location. This valley is one of Bolivia’s most unique natural attractions. In the afternoon, you'll visit the Ayma Canyons and hike down to the southern deserts of La Paz. This valley is known for its beautiful desert landscapes and for its pre-Inca cultural ruins and heritage. Today you'll take on a one-of-a-kind adventure - biking down the world-renowned “Death Road," an amazing road that carves through the steepest mountain terrain and most beautiful Amazonian rainforests. The road was built in the 1930's by Paraguayan prisoners from the Chaco War and its sheer cliffs once claimed close to 130 lives in car accidents per year (hence the name). The ride includes a full day riding down to the Amazon on a mountain bike, with a great lunch in the Amazon Basin. You'll return back to La Paz tonight. Get ready for this bucket list experience! Today rise early to witness the sunrise that inspired Inca ceremonies in the middle of Lake Titicaca, accompanied by a ceremony of payment to Mother Earth with an Andean priest, a truly surreal experience. Afterwards, have a nice breakfast in your hotel before exploring the most beautiful Inca trails of the island as well as white sand beaches (yes, you read that right). You'll have the option to either run or hike down these trails and visit amazing beaches, beautiful view-points, and Inca and pre-Inca ruin sites. Today is an epic day! Get ready to gain some elevation and start your exploration of the true Royal Andes Mountain Range! An hour's drive will have you arriving at Huayna Potosi State Park, with amazing and direct views of the imposing mountains and glaciers. Today you'll visit Laguna Esmeralda, a beautiful turquoise lagoon, the Milluni Mining Historic Cemetery, and hike amongst llamas and alpacas to reach Huayna Potosi’s Base Camp. Plan to fly into El Alto International Airport (LPB). Airport pickups are from inside the airport at the arrival gate. All transfers are included regardless of the time of day. Bolivia Bucket List can manage some slightly different arrival times and dates, however you will be responsible for all lodging and food for the additional days.
All accommodations are in double or triple rooms. In La Paz, you'll be staying in 3-star hotels and for nights away from La Paz, you'll be staying in a backcountry outdoor cabin site.

All breakfasts and lunches are included as well as most dinners (for a day-to-day breakdown of all meals, see the itinerary). Snacks are also included throughout the tour.Meals throughout the trip focus on three main concepts: 1) Prime Bolivian restaurants 2) Good quantity of food (hearty meals for hiking days), and 3) Subtle yet amazing introductions to Bolivian cuisine and ingredients. Meals include one main course dish (for lunch and dinner) and one optional beverage. Any extra beverages or food runs will be on a separate passenger bill. Breakfasts are served in the hotel or accommodation site.
