How do I redeem my voucher? Are there any blackout dates?

Voucher valid only for travel dates that fall within start and end dates shown above. Once purchased, please reach out to Green World Adventures as soon as possible to arrange your dates via the directions included in the confirmation email you receive after purchase. Do not make travel arrangements until you have received confirmation from Green World Adventures.

Are private departures available?

Yes, we have private departures available on this trip! Private departures offer more flexibility to travel when it suits your group and allows you the opportunity to travel in your own pack. Additional costs may apply depending on your group size. Please contact our Adventures Team to explore pricing and check on availability.

What is the best way to get to the trip start location?

Fly into the Juan Santamaria International Airport (San Jose, Costa Rica - SJO). A tour representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

What are the accommodations like?

You'll stay at 2-or 3-star hotels in nice locations. Rooms will have a private bathroom and hot shower.

Can solo travelers get their own room? Is there a single supplement fee?

If you are a solo traveler and would like your own room for the duration of the trip there is a single supplement fee. Please contact our Adventure team for pricing and availability.

What is the maximum number of people on each tour?

There is a maximum of 30 people per group. Travelers will share transportation and activities with other guests but it won’t be the same group for the entire time.

What is the minimum age required to participate in the trip activities?

There is a minimum age requirement of 10 years old due to the intensity of the white water rafting activity. If you have a younger child with you we can substitute a safari float tour in place of the white water rafting.

What is the food like?

This trip includes daily breakfasts, one lunch, and one dinner. See the itinerary for more details. For breakfast, most of the hotels offer the option of a typical Costa Rican breakfast and continental breakfast. For lunch, you'll have a typical “casado,” which includes rice, beans, green salad, vegetables, and one portion of meat. For dinner, you'll have different options to choose from.

How much extra money should I budget?

For meals not included and small personal expenses you should bring between $200 to $300 USD per person. Expect to spend between $15 to $20 USD each meal.

Do you recommend travel insurance? If so, who do you recommend as a provider?

Medical and travel insurance is required for this adventure. It allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, and/or theft or accidental damage while traveling. We recommend VisitorsCoverage as a travel insurance provider.

Are there special requirements for entry into the destination I am visiting?

We recommend you visit the local government websites where you plan to travel and review the required documentation for entry, current restrictions, and general recommendations for travel within the area. We encourage you to also visit your home country's embassy website if you are traveling to a foreign country. Requirements can change rapidly. Please be sure you stay abreast of the requirements and restrictions for anywhere you plan to visit. You can also enroll in the U.S. government’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and you will be sent updates if the situation in your destination changes. Can I cancel or modify my trip?

Yes! Book confidently with Free Cancellations within 72 hours of booking. After 72 hours, cancellation fees will apply.

Up to 60 days prior to departure*
You may postpone or modify your trip up to 60 days prior to departure with no fees or penalties.
You will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date, or
2) Select a new adventure or destination, or
3) Receive 100% lifetime store credit toward a future trip.
*Please note, when choosing a new date, you must choose a date within one year from your original departure date and within the same travel season to avoid any additional trip costs. If you select a new adventure, you will be responsible for the difference of any additional trip costs above the value of your current trip.
Up to 30 days prior to departure*
You may postpone your trip up to 30 days prior to departure with no fees or penalties.
You will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date, or
2) Receive a lifetime store credit toward a future trip. Standard cancellation fees will apply.
*Please note, when choosing a new date, you must choose a date within one year from your original departure date and within the same travel season to avoid any additional trip costs. If you choose to cancel, you will receive a lifetime credit, minus cancellation fees, towards a future trip.
Less than 30 days prior to departure*
In some cases, you may have the option to postpone your trip within 30 days prior to departure.
If this is available at the time of your request, you will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date. Additional trip costs may apply and new dates are subject to availability, or
2) Receive a lifetime store credit toward a future trip. Standard cancellation fees will apply.
