How do I redeem my voucher? For which departure dates is it valid? Are there blackout dates?

Once you purchase your voucher, detailed instructions will be sent to you with Green World Adventures' contact information. Please reach out to them as soon as possible in order to secure the dates you desire. Voucher valid only for travel dates that fall within start and end dates shown above. Generally, trips depart on Sundays multiple times per month within the voucher period. Please note your departure is not confirmed until you receive confirmation from Green World Adventures.

Are private departures available?

Yes, we have private departures available on this trip! Private departures offer more flexibility to travel when it suits your group and allows you the opportunity to travel in your own pack. Additional costs may apply depending on your group size. Please contact our Adventures Team to explore pricing and check on availability.

What is the best way to get to the trip start location?

Fly into the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica. Once you arrive, make your way to the car rental company at the airport where a representative will take you to your car and the start of your tour.

What are the accommodations like?

Accommodations for this trip are based on double occupancy and throughout your trip, you'll stay at standard 2-3 star hotels, each with a private bathroom, hot shower, towels, and a nice location.

Can solo travelers get their own room? Is there a single supplement fee?

Yes, solo travelers may opt for their own room, but a supplemental fee is required. Please contact our Adventures Team to explore pricing and availability.

What are the rules regarding accommodations for children?

A children's rate applies to children under 10 years old. This rate applies when the child is sharing a room with at least two adults. Maximum of two children per room with two adults. For more information on pricing, please contact our Adventure Team.

What are the requirements to drive the rental car?

Drivers will need to have a valid driver's license, be 23 years of age or older, and have at least two years of driving experience. You'll also need a credit card with enough credit to cover the deductible ($750).

How large is each travel group?
-
This is a self-drive package, so you won’t share transportation with other participants. The only time you'll be with other participants is during the location-specific guided tours and in the accommodations (unless you choose to pay the single supplement fee).

What meals are included? What is the food like?

Breakfast is included on all days except the first day. All other meals are on your own at local shops and restaurants.
For the included breakfasts, you'll have three options:
Typical breakfast: Gallo Pinto (rice and beans), eggs, bread, coffee, orange juice
American breakfast
Continental breakfast

How much extra money should people budget

For meals not included and small personal expenses you should bring between $200 to $300 per person. Expect to spend between $15 to $20 for each meal.

Are there additional activities that customers can purchase?

Yes, there are multiple optional activities you can choose from at each location. A full list will be provided to you from Green World Adventures.

What should people bring? Do you have a packing list?

It is very important to know that although Costa Rica is a small country, there are microclimates that provide many different types of weather conditions in the country. It can be very hot and humid in one place and completely different in another place that is only 12 miles away. Plan to bring clothing for hot and humid weather as well as sun and rain protection. See below for a suggested packing list:

Do you require or recommend travel insurance?

Medical and travel insurance is required for this adventure. It allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, and/or theft or accidental damage while traveling. For travel insurance, we recommend VisitorsCoverage as a provider.

Are there special requirements for entry into the destination I am visiting?

We recommend you visit the local government websites where you plan to travel and review the required documentation for entry, current restrictions, and general recommendations for travel within the area. We encourage you to also visit your home country's embassy website if you are traveling to a foreign country. Requirements can change rapidly. Please be sure you stay abreast of the requirements and restrictions for anywhere you plan to visit. You can also enroll in the U.S. government’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and you will be sent updates if the situation in your destination changes. Can I cancel or modify my trip?

Yes! Book confidently with Free Cancellations within 72 hours of booking. After 72 hours, cancellation fees will apply.

Up to 60 days prior to departure*
You may postpone or modify your trip up to 60 days prior to departure with no fees or penalties.
You will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date, or
2) Select a new adventure or destination, or
3) Receive 100% lifetime store credit toward a future trip.
*Please note, when choosing a new date, you must choose a date within the same travel season in 2022 or 2023 to avoid any additional trip costs. If you select a new adventure, you will be responsible for the difference of any additional trip costs above the value of your current trip.
Up to 30 days prior to departure*
You may postpone your trip up to 30 days prior to departure with no fees or penalties.
You will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date, or
2) Receive a lifetime store credit toward a future trip. Standard cancellation fees will apply.
*Please note, when choosing a new date, you must choose a date within the same travel season in 2022 or 2023 to avoid any additional trip costs. If you choose to cancel, you will receive a lifetime credit, minus cancellation fees, towards a future trip.
Less than 30 days prior to departure*
In some cases, you may have the option to postpone your trip within 30 days prior to departure.
If this is available at the time of your request, you will have the option to:
1) Select a new travel date within one year of your original departure date. Additional trip costs may apply and new dates are subject to availability, or
2) Receive a lifetime store credit toward a future trip. Standard cancellation fees will apply.
