The trip starts and ends in Dangriga. Most guests fly into Belize International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. There are several flights per day from Belize International to Dangriga (DGA). You can book flights from Belize City to Dangriga with Maya Island Air. Alternately, there is a local bus service to Dangriga from Belize City and other parts of Belize. The bus terminal is located 20 minutes from the airport in Belize City and can be accessed via taxi service. The bus ride to Dangriga is about 3 hours.

Throughout your trip you'll be staying at three different accommodations. Below is a description of each:

Dangriga Beach Hotel - One night will be spent at a beach-side hotel in Dangriga. Hotel accommodations are simple and standard and all rooms have a private bathroom and double bed.

Glover's Reef Basecamp - Three nights will be spent in safari-style canvas tents that are simple, clean, and comfortable. The tents are secured on a raised wooden platform and each will accommodate a couple or two singles. Each one is appointed with a real wood-frame bed (double or singles), a six-inch foam mattress, a night-stand with a kerosene lamp, as well as organizational shelves. Bathrooms are communal with individual stalls for privacy for both showers and toilets.

Bocawina Eco-Resort - Two nights will be spend at Bocawina, which offers mid-range accommodations in beautiful thatch cabanas. Each room features two queen-sized beds, ceiling fan, armoire for clothing, a private bathroom with hot and cold shower, in-room wi-fi access, and daily housekeeping.

All meals are included from lunch on Day 2 to breakfast on the final day.

Glover’s Basecamp offers international and Central American cuisine as well as local fare along with Creole dishes and smoked BBQ.

At Bocawina, dining service is available on-site at the Wild Fig Restaurant and Bar where they have a daily menu with multiple options to select from. The Wild Fig deals directly with local farmers and uses only the freshest ingredients available. They also use Belizean fruits grown on the property. Both locations can accommodate vegan and vegetarian diets, as well as food allergies.

If you’re planning to fly to Dangriga from Belize International Airport (Belize City), flights are approximately $100 each way. Also, plan to bring additional money for activities, depending on your tastes and preferences.

You should also account for money for meals on Day 1 and alcoholic beverages (not included). You can budget an additional $200 per person for gratuities to local guides, which are not included and are appreciated.

Spare set of eyeglasses (even if you wear contact lenses) and contact lens solution

Soap and sunscreen - consider bringing biodegradable reef-friendly sunblock & soap. Island Expeditions highly recommends the use of environmental products if you are certain the product works for you.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for all trips.
